Illustrations for recipes on bread

Lieken Urkorn is an established bread brand in Germany that is hard to imagine supermarket shelves without.
For Lieken Urkorn I was supposed to develop recipes based on bread and illustrate the vegetables and fruit that are on the bread/recipe. In a photo shoot. which I also made, the delicious breads were then photographed. The photo and illustration were then put together in Photoshop.
The Idea
For our client Lieken Urkorn, the goal was to connect new recipe ideas with something fresh and unexpected. This led us to the idea of turning the recipes we regularly developed for the bread into pieces of art by illustrating their main ingredients.
By transforming food into visual artworks, we created an artistic way to draw attention to the bread — an approach that successfully stood out and captured interest.
The First Step
In the first step, we selected the main ingredients, and I began illustrating them at home in my studio using watercolors. I explored different perspectives and varying color intensities, creating initial drawing prototypes.
The Result
After selecting the strongest illustrations, we began combining our photographs of the breads and their ingredients with the illustrations using Illustrator and Photoshop, arranging them into carefully crafted, artistic compositions.
The final visuals were shared across social media and the website, helping to make the bread even more appealing and appetizing for the audience.
